We see the "victims" of these questionable and/or absurd tests every day.
Every serious medical practitioner and medical scientists knows that only an IgE test can determine a 'classical' allergy.
Most of the intolerance tests are not vaild!
And York? IgG? Even accepted by Allergy UK? I remember the case where a friend did send three samples to York laboratories... under three different names...
now guess... RIGHT! Three completely different result.
If a VEGA or BICOM or whatever machine can really tests for certain yeasts and bacteria in the intestines… or hundreds of food-sensitivities, it would be a world sensation... This machine would probably cost a couple of million pounds... and not just 400 or so...

Dirk Budka and his team of biomedical scientists analysed for Channel 5 six different "Ready Meals" from four major UK supermarkets. Some might find the outcome shocking - we believe it is not unexpected: high levels of Bacteria and very high levels of Histamines. Details and comments regarding ready meals and this specific studies will be published soon.
Here is a little extract:
The level for histamines in fish (there is NO rule/law for the amount of histamines in meat and other foods) is 200mg/kg. This a shocking level, because good quality fish contain less than 10 mg/kg histamine, a level of 30 mg/kg indicates already significant deteriation. We found levels of 185mg/kg and 450(!)mg/kg. How long will authorities and the Food Standard Agency (FSA) tolerate these limits? The incidents of reactions are on the increase, because approx. 5-10 % of the population suffer from histamine intolerance.

"MICROBIOME DIET"
First of all... this is not a "one fits all" diet which you find more or less on a daily base in newspapers and magazines, promoted by nutritional health-gurus and/or health-journalists who seem to believe that there are foods, which are good for everyone and foods which are bad for everyone.
And when it comes to loosing weight, increasing energy levels, or getting rid of cellulite (here we go again!), for these gurus every person has the same metabolism and absorption.
So... what is the MICROBIOME DIET about?
The nutrient value or energetic value of food is affected by the digestive capacity of an individual's microbiota. This has implications for identifying individuals who are at risk of being malnourished or obese and treating them on the basis of a personalized view of nutrition that considers their microbial ecology. (P.J.Turnbaugh et al)
Means: analyse your microbial status (human - microbe mutualism) and you might be very close to find YOUR optimum diet/eating programme.
So... its all about your bacteria? Yes, it is! And never dismiss bacteria as your enemy or something that is just a "must" in your body, because your body is more bacteria than human: You have 10x more bacterial cells than human cells.
ALSO:
There are NO good bacteria
There are NO bad bacteria
In phases, good can become bad (e.g. when patients suffer with pancreas problems), bad can become good.
Even so called "bad" bacteria play important roles in your body. For example: the metabolism of xenobiotics (foreign substances like toxins, pharmaceuticals, etc.) which clearly makes a bad bacterium a good one!
We have to get used to the thought, that bacteria and other microbes play a much more important role regarding our health than ever thought before. Although some progress was made already, science is just at its beginning to learn about the role of microbes in our immune-system.

 BACTERIA, FUNGI, VIRUSES, PARASITES - an overview and tests
When it comes to diseases created by microbes, complementary and conventional medicine are often light years away from being able to help patients. And there are many reasons for it. The main one: There is not enough knowledge regarding the human – microbe mutualism and disease.
EXAMPLE VIRUSES:
You feel unwell and your GP tells you: You have a virus, but he cannot help you, because in most cases there is no medication available and research in virology is more or less at the very beginning. But … should the GP not know more about your immune system? Could he/she not give you some ideas what to do to strengthen your immunity? …To avoid re-infection? If you are prone to infections, is it not a good idea to run some tests? …Other tests than the usual haematology tests? What about testing the viral load? What about a test for cytomegalovirus (CMV)? Do you know that scientific evidence shows that chronic cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection may accelerate the aging of the immune system and may lead to a high chronic-inflammatory background in elderly persons?
In most unidentified “you have a virus” cases, conventional medicine will advise you to drink more water and rest, and complementary medicine will tell you to take Echinacea. Of course… in many cases, your immune system will overcome the viral infection. But in some cases one has to ask the question: For how long? Cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr-Virus (the causative agent for Glandular Fever), Shingles are all from the Herpesviridiae-family. They remain latent in your body and can cause many other health problems.

EXAMPLE FUNGI:
You have a Candida… When you hear this “diagnosis” from your health practitioner next time, ask him/her: which one? There are many different Candida species. Now… this is clearly the playground for alternative practitioners, who do not have (or want) to prove things. From stomach pain, diarrhoea, migraines and depression to “brain fog”, allergies, “multiple chemical sensitivities” and pain in the knee… it is all Candida related. Candida is ignored by conventional medicine (other than vaginal or oral thrush or the life-threatening candidemia in immuno-compromised patients), but overrated by alternative medicine.

EXAMPLE PARASITES:
I was diagnosed with parasites and they prescribed me a “parasite cleanse”. There are parasites which can harm you a little and there are parasites that can kill, but research also shows that there might be a different view: some worms/parasites might be even helpful to avoid certain diseases…
However, in complementary medicine parasites are only seen as bad and an expensive remedy – the parasite cleanse - is prescribed which promises to get rid of all parasites. Like the snake elixir in the Wild West. It helped against colds, broken legs, depression, impotence, cancer, heart disease and black spots… When you read about general “Parasite Cleansing”, think twice before ordering it. You might just be throwing your money away.
Many of these parasite-cleansing websites quote Dr. Hulda Clark, the inventor of the parasite zapper. Yes! This zapper sends electricity through your body which will kill the parasite (mainly the liver fluke… so they claim). Many Clark-disciples believe, that these zappers also kill the AIDS virus, heal cancer, hepatitis and get rid of obesity. They have an incredible logic: If a strong dosage of electricity can kill a man, a weak dosage can kill a small parasite. Extraordinary how many people believe this! It is also incredible, that they also throw all parasites into one hat. They are all the same! The Plasmodium spp. which causes Malaria and has killed half of all men, women and children who have died on this planet… or the Blastocystis hominis which is in some countries in the world classified as ‘harmless’ and in others as ‘pathogenic’… or the Giardia lamblia, which causes diarrhoea and gut problems… or the Acantamoeba which causes blinding keratitis, … or the Naegleria fowleri which causes damage to the central nervous system and kills within days.
Conventional tests concentrate only on some parasites, which trigger gastrointestinal diseases. Some labs like the Great Smokey’s in the USA test for some more… But how valuable is a specimen that has to travel around the world? Think about time, temperature-changes and altitude-change … this means the test results from these samples will not be very reliable.

EXAMPLE BACTERIA:
There are no good and no bad bacteria…there are only bacteria which are useful and some which are harmful at certain times. When it comes to bacteria, it is not about “them” and “us”, because we are more “them” than “us”. Human bodies have more bacterial than human cells. Gastrointestinal diseases like Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) or increased gut permeability (often wrongly named/wrongly diagnosed as Leaky Gut Syndrome), Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, and food poisoning mostly have a bacterial background. Incidences of SIBO, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (sometimes called SBBO) and dysbacteriosis are growing and more and more patients are suffering from bacterial imbalances. In conventional medicine, gastroenterologists perform tests to diagnose or exclude bowel cancer, celiac disease, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, but they do not or very rarely test for bacterial imbalances. And even if they diagnose a patient with Crohn’s disease, which is still classified as an “autoimmune disorder”, most of them (still) do not accept, that there is more and more evidence that Crohn’s disease (and some other so called auto-immune disorders) is triggered by bacteria.
In alternative medicine, many practitioners prefer to diagnose bowel problems as “Candida” and they put the poor sufferers on long-term (and therefore sometimes dangerous) diets and prescribe loads of supplements. In my book “THE CANDIDA CONFUSION” I write about 200 patients, previously diagnosed with “Candida”… and only two of them had Candida! Or patients are being told to avoid wheat and dairy (who started this “stop wheat and dairy” nonsense anyway?).
